La Onda NFP

The term “La Onda“ translates to “the wave” or the “the ripple” in Spanish but for Rockford, Illinois it symbolizes much more than that. It aims to honor the past while paving the way for future generations. It represents a movement, a shift, and a force that has begun to take shape within our Latino community.

La Onda NFP was founded in April 2024 in Rockford, Illinois. Its mission is dedicated to promoting and celebrating Latino culture, heritage and identity. Through vibrant events, diverse programming and community initiatives, we aim to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the diverse Latino identities within our community.

La palabra “La Onda” significa una ola o una onda, pero para Rockford, Illinois, simboliza much más que eso. Se dedica a honrar su pasado mientras haciendo camino para las generaciones futuras. Representa un movimiento, un cambio, y una fuerza que ha empezado a tomar lugar en nuestra comunidad latina.
